Capturing Moments at Home:

A Guide to Your Family & Newborn Session

There’s something truly special about photographing families the comfort of their own home. One of the main reasons I offer in-home sessions is because I want parents and little ones to feel relaxed in their familiar space. Your home — your beautiful nest — becomes part of the story we’re capturing. And don’t worry if you think your space isn’t “photo-ready” — I find beauty in the real, lived-in moments of your life.

Another reason I love in-home sessions is the flexibility they offer. We can work around your baby’s happiest time of the day, ensuring we capture those bright-eyed, joyful moments. I always take the time to chat with you beforehand so we can plan the session in a way that suits your family’s rhythm.

When I arrive, I’ll look for spaces with beautiful natural light — usually the living room, near big windows, or on the veranda. I rely mostly on natural light to create soft, timeless images. I also bring along a few essentials: two lights if needed, a bean bag for newborns, and some gentle props to help create a cozy, inviting setup.

For clothing, I encourage light, simple outfits — whites, neutrals, and earthy tones always look beautiful on camera and complement your home’s natural backdrop. And for mums, I offer a complimentary client closet so you can choose something that feels just right for you.
